ZWC Update: Acting Up Award Winner
In May, we hosted an On the Table discussion in partnership with The Chicago Community Trust, in which we invited community members to join us to chat about how to strengthen the zero waste community in Chicago. Our conversation was wide-ranging, but largely centered on how we can make the movement more accessible and inclusive.
On June 28th, we received an Acting Up Award from The Chicago Community Trust to start bringing these ideas to life! This fall, we'll be developing "Kids Compost," a composting curriculum for use in pre-K classrooms that we’ll pilot with students at a preschool in Mount Prospect. We're excited to have another tool we can use to help weave sustainable habits into the daily habits of Chicagoans, even from a young age!
You can view our proposal, along with those of the other Acting Up Award winners, here. Many thanks to The Chicago Community Trust, Goodcity Chicago, and our On the Table attendees for partnering with us to make this happen!
